On Thursday, I worked an hour late on an online tutorial that had to be finished for review. It's great to get double overtime, and it'll be nice to have the extra time available for appointments. My manager heard me tapping away furiously on my keyboard about 25 minutes after I was supposed to leave, and she said 'you'd better submit your overtime!' That was nice to hear since I didn't have the OT preapproved.
Yesterday was my regular day off. I wrapped all of the Christmas presents, except for the gifts for me and Neil's gift to his Dad. I'm glad Neil wrapped those. It's amazing how long it takes to wrap everything--and I'm sure we don't have as many gifts as some families! It was actually a bit more challenging than usual though because I decided to use only wrapping materials that I had in my house and so some gifts were difficult to wrap because the paper was too small.
Also yesterday, Sophia went to the dentist for the first time. The dentist said it's better if they see her without me in the room, so I waited in the waiting room. They said she was a little worried at first but then did very well. They did a check up, cleaned her teeth, and put flouride on them. They didn't do x-rays though because she was a bit apprehensive and they didn't want to turn her off the dentist too much. The Dr. said her teeth looked good on the surface anyway; they just don't know if there are cavities between her teeth. Even so, they said to bring her back in one year.
I spent two-thirds of my splurge club money on ONE thing yesterday. Usually, I go for quantity, but this time I went for quality. I had wanted red boots and had shopped around for some last Friday and yesterday. There was one pair that really stood out as being perfect for me. It's hard to spend that much on one thing but I know I will love and wear these boots often. They're comfortable, warm, waterproof, and stylish.
We have two Christmas parties to attend today. The preschool party is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., then we're going to the Watson Christmas party (Neil's Mom's side) after that. Thank goodness the girls had good long sleeps last night! In fact, Sophia slept for a full 13 hours, which is highly unusual, and Madeline slept for 12 hours. Unfortunately, Sophia definitely has a bad cold today. I gave her some Triaminic Cold & Cough and will give her more later, so hopefully she'll feel okay for the parties.
Well, I'd better get moving and get ready for the day!
