At nine months, two weeks, and five days old, Georgia:
- is babbling and making a lot of "talking" sounds these days; her first word may be "oh-oh" but I'm not sure;
- can crawl very fast (and doesn't seem any closer to walking than the last time I mentioned it);
- loves bathing in the big tub; when she hears the water running, she speed crawls to the bathroom and tries to get in the tub (she stands up and lifts one leg up repeatedly -- very cute!);
- protests a lot more now when something is taken away from her;
- enjoys chunky food now; I introduced these new Heinz Mom's Recipe foods to her a couple of weeks ago and she loves them;
- is very regular (i.e., she has a BM immediately after every meal!); I call it "input-output" and the big girls get a kick out of that;
- goes to sleep at naptime and bedtime very well; at home, we always turn on the rainfall sound on the sound machine (similar to this; it helps drown out noise made by the other kids) and put one
Funky Monkey in bed with her (as with Sophia and Madeline, we introduced a special "lovey" early on so she'll have something familiar to take to the babysitter when the time comes; we have two of the same toy specifically for that purpose); - has two naps a day and rarely naps for more than an hour at a time;
- has started sleeping longer at night (the other day she slept from 8:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.!*) and sometimes goes back to sleep on her own (especially if she wakes earlier, such as midnight);
- had extra rosy cheeks this evening; perhaps she's getting her third tooth (both Sophia and Madeline had very red cheeks when cutting teeth, but Georgia didn't when her first two came in -- over two months ago).
*and then went back to sleep for a couple more hours after having a drink.
