Madeline started saying "thank you" yesterday. I've heard her say it four times now--when I gave her her milk cup, a dog biscuit, a block (she was building a tower), and play dough tools. I'm very impressed!
Sophia also says "thank you" quite well. She also says "please", but sometimes needs to be reminded.
Also, when Madeline takes off her diaper, she doesn't just drop it on the floor. No, she brings it to me and says "here". That's nice--at least I don't have to discover it somewhere and I can get a new diaper on her before she has an accident.
That reminds me of how interested Madeline is in the potty. She will go into the bathroom, open the potty lid, sit down, then get some toilet paper, "wipe" herself, throw it in the potty, and close the lid. This is usually with her pants or short on, but if she has access to her diaper, she'll even take off her diaper before doing this routine! I bet she'll be trained considerably sooner than Sophia was. Of course it is due to having a big sister to model.
